The Long Shadow of Chernobyl

11 hours to go: Your last chance to support this important photo project by Gerd Ludwig, a National Geographic photographer. Gerd is currently in Chernobyl documenting the aftermath of the disaster from April 26, 1986. Car and driver alone cost 600 USD per day in the contaminated zone! Check out this video or go directly to kickstarter for more info.

I love Kickstarter. THey bring so many projects to the forefront that would otherwise be lost in the shuffle. Bravo on this very good work on Chernobyl.

You need to go to Cuba and document the Russians that went there for treatment at playa Guanabo when they were kids.

@ AC: yes, Kickstarter is a wonderful platform. It is a pity that they currently only support projects registered in the US (to be exact, their payment vendor Amazon does have this restriction). As I am based outside the US, I hope that they will open up soon.

BTW, this Chernobyl project was realized by my friend Gerd Ludwig - find more info on www.longshadowofchernobyl.com. Ironically, Gerd was inside the Chernobyl reactor when the Fukoshima disaster happened, only learning about the news days later.
